Bulldozerでインターンをしているアンナ・カンカーンパーです。私は昔からアート、漫画、本、アニメーションが大好きでした。子供の頃、毎日絵を描いたり、自分の物語を書いたりしていました。しかし、フィンランドの人口1万人の小さな町で育った私は、創造力を伸ばす環境やサポートがあまり得られないと感じていました。いつもどこか別の場所を夢見ていて、それが私に「物語への飢え」を与えたのかもしれません。
そして今、私はBulldozerで新たな旅を始めました。クリエイティブ業界でのキャリアはまだ始まったばかりですが、この経験を通じて自信をつけ、プロフェッショナルとして成長したいと思っています。グラフィックデザイン、イラスト、レイアウトデザイン、そして少しですがアニメーションも学びました。また、日本語の基礎も勉強しており、さらに語学力を向上させたいと思っています。国際的な環境で働き、日本の仕事文化から学ぶ機会にとてもワクワクしています。
私のお気に入りの物語は、深く心を動かし、ときには人生を変えるほどの影響を与えてくれました。強い物語は、意味のあることを語り、私たちの心を揺さぶります。物語は人を動かし、考えさせ、聞き手や観客を魅了します。人類は古代から物語を語り続けてきました。物語の力は、私たちの身の回りにも溢れています。たとえば、成功するブランドには、私たちがその商品を買いたくなるようなストーリーがあります。政治家は人々の注目を集めるためにストーリーを使い、メディアには新聞を買わせるための物語が溢れています。私たち自身も日常的にストーリーを語っています——その日あった楽しい出来事、先週観た映画、購入した失敗作の商品など。物語は世界を変えることができる——少なくとも、誰か一人の世界は変えられるのです。
アート思考（Art Thinking）は、ストーリーテリングと深く結びついています。私にとって、アート思考とは「好奇心」と「遊び心」、そして身の回りにある物語を見つける力です。また、新しい可能性や視点、アイデアを想像する能力でもあります。それは不要な批判を手放し、「なぜダメなのか？」ではなく、「なぜダメじゃないのか？」、「もしこうだったら？」と問いかけることです。私は、自分の仕事を通じて、世界をもっと楽しく、もっと魔法のような場所にしたいと願っています。一緒に素晴らしい物語を作りましょう！

Story from a small town girl from Finland
Hi, I’m Anna Kankaanpää and I’m doing an internship at Bulldozer. I have always loved art, comics, books, and animations. When I was a child, I drew and wrote my own stories every day. Unfortunately, I spent my childhood in a town of 10,000 inhabitants in Finland, and I felt that in such a small town, a little girl didn’t receive much support for her creativity. I often dreamed of being elsewhere, and maybe that is what gave me a hunger for stories.
My story with Bulldozer has begun. I am at the beginning of my career in the creative industry, and I hope that during my time here I can gain confidence and develop as a professional. I have studied graphic design, illustration, layout design, and a bit of animation. I also have studied the basics of the Japanese language, and I would like to improve my language skills. I am excited about the opportunity to work in an international environment and learn from Japanese work culture.
My favorite stories have moved me deeply and even changed my life in some way. Strong stories talk about meaningful things and evoke emotions in us. Stories move people and make us think – they enchant the listener or viewer. People have been telling stories to each other since ancient times. The power of stories can be seen all around us: successful brands have stories that make us buy their products, politicians use stories to capture our attention, and the media is full of stories that make us buy newspapers. We also tell stories to each other all the time – about something fun that happened during the day, the movies we saw, or the bad product we bought. Stories can change the world – or at least one person’s world.
Art thinking is closely connected to storytelling. To me, art thinking is curiosity and playfulness and ability to see stories all around me. Art thinking is also the ability to imagine new possibilities, perspectives and ideas. It is about letting go of unnecessary criticism and instead asking, “why not?” and “what if?” I hope that through my work, I can make the world a little more playful and magical. Let’s make stories together.
